Carter Named 'HR Professional of the
Year' in Winston-Salem
The Winston-Salem Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has named Linda Carter, our manager of client services, its "HR Professional of the Year" for her contributions to the organization and community.
She joined the SHRM board of directors in 2007. Carter’s community service in Winston-Salem includes building Habitat for Humanity homes, volunteering at the Black Theatre Festival and soliciting clothing for Goodwill’s “Success Outfitters” program which provides gently used business clothing to graduates completing job training.
At The Benefit Advocates, Carter serves as project manager for SCANA Corporation, SunTrust, Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corp., Denny’s and other client companies who need patient advocacy services. She also serves as client relationship manager and assists with recruiting new business.
Her passion is patient advocacy one reason why The Benefit Advocates successfully overturns an above-average number of denied claims. “I take a great sense of pride in doing what I do best and that is helping others," Carter said.
Carter joined The Benefit Advocates in 2002 after a career of more than 18 years at Wachovia and predecessor companies managing defined contribution plans as a corporate benefits analyst.
