Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation Announces 2004 Figures

In the Dec.1, 2003 issue of the Federal Register, the PBGC announced that $3,698.86 per month is the maximum amount it will guarantee in 2004 for retirees in underfunded single-employer retirement plans.

PBGC currently insures pension benefits worth $1.5 trillion and is responsible for paying current and future benefits to nearly one million people vested in more than 3,200 terminated defined-benefit plans.
