Tips for Reducing Workplace Stress

Stress-related workers’ compensation claims, absenteeism, health costs, employee turnover and productivity declines account for $300 billion in the United States each year.

To reduce stress on the job:

  • Take a Walk.
Get out of the office and clear your mind.

  • Share Your Concerns with a Friend.
Don’t bottle up your frustrations. Talk to someone about work-related issues.

  • Prioritize Responsibilities.
Wise time management will keep you from trying to do too much at once.

  • Watch Your Thinking.
When work is a zoo, pause to visualize a serene and quiet place instead of the crisis of the day.
  • Exercise.
It’s good for your mental and physical health.
