NWBOC Certification: An Important Distinction

My View by Mary Kesel graphic

Since our last issue, we have received an important — and universally recognized — distinction in business.

After a thorough review covering everything from day-to-day governance to finances, the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) has certified The Benefit Advocates as a woman-owned business.

It’s another important step in the growth of a company founded in 2001 to provide “Real People, Real Answers” solutions to benefit issues. The NWBOC certification is an important seal of assurance for anyone considering doing business with us that we truly are a ‘woman-owned business’ in every sense of the word — from our daily leadership to the ownership of every single asset.

The NWBOC developed its certification process in 1997 in partnership with Dell Computer, Bell Atlantic, IBM and more than 38 other corporations. Over time, it has replaced a crazy quilt of duplicate programs to provide a single, recognizable standard for supplier diversity review and verification.

We’re proud to receive this recognition and look forward to further growing our business through the increased partnerships it will allow us to develop with public and private companies and government agencies. Look for the NWBOC seal on future issues of The Advocate and our other publications.
