A Little Fish Goes a Long Way

Fish still not your favorite food? Well, here’s some news that might make you get into the swim. A recent Greek study again confirmed the heart-healthy benefits of fish.

The study found that eating just a few ounces of fish a week can reduce heart attack risk by 38 percent. The study examined the effect of fish on 1,900 men and women who had diabetes or who smoked. After receiving five weekly ounces of fish, these high-risk groups had a reduction of 11 to 24 percent in heart attack risk.

Even small amounts of fish have omega-3 fatty acids – proven to lower blood pressure and prevent the buildup of plaque that can block arteries and cause heart attacks.
