Premiums Increase for Higher-Income Seniors
For
the first time in the program's history, Medicare recipients
with higher incomes will assume a greater share of the costs
than other beneficiaries. The new premiums apply to
individuals with annual incomes more than $80,000 and couples
making more than $160,000. The changes begin in January and
continue in phases through 2009.
